Counter Strike 1.6 map

WoW! (just an expression…nothing to do with World of Warcraft! ) I am back at my blog second consecutive day!!

Well, I just wanted to post the video of the map for Counter Strike 1.6 made by me as a college work.

This map was made on the Valve Hammer Editor 3.4. Actually it has been a long time since I did this job, but uploaded the video just yesterday.

This map was tested by different people in our college during a Counter Strike tournament called manifest which was held on 30th Jan 2009.

What is a blog?

Well, thats the question that I might be asking myself if I forget this blog any longer….  This has been the longest break between any two posts on my blog…

I have been thinking of writing something over here for a long time as usual but never actually tried to log-in even So, finally I am here first time after February 2009!

In about five months that I have forgot blogging, many things happened like for instance, Deccan Chargers winning the IPL and India getting out of the T20 World Cup before the semi finals! Manchester United won the Barclays Premier League but lost to Barcelona in the Champions League finals!

Leaving aside the winnings and losings in the world sport, many other things were going on at my side too.. like being busy in my college as usual, either playing or completing some work! ( and yeah, btw, our college lab has improved by leaps and bounds since then… we have got 14, yes 14 new computers with a Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT graphic card! Thats kool huh?? )  Yeah and one more thing new is that I have recently completed a short ad film which was given to us as an assignment for our editing module.. Would be uploading it soon, once the final submission is done! To list out more about my college and works, recently started animation and animated my own characters for some specific cycles.. I am thinking of uploading those videos too..

And yes, before I sound as if I am so much busy in studies all this time, I would be stopping here on my college and studies part…. Now, as my last post was on movies, I would get back to that topic now. But the sad thing is no new movies have been releasing recently due to some stupid rift going on in the industry with the multiplex owners So the recent one movie that released and I did see it was 99. Well, to tell about it, I felt the movie was quite interesting one. I didn’t hear any good reviews on it but personally I felt it was a nice story that was merged with the match fixing scandal. Well, about Hollywood,  I saw Fast and Furious 4 and liked it also. But I would anytime rate the first movie on top of any other in that series! One more recent one was The Pink Panther 2. This one was not as entertaining as the first one but still it was nice one. One time watch for sure!

Ok, and one more thing recently I am on Flickr. So, I have been uploading some of my explorations with a camera over there. Actually the reason behing me logging in to my blog today was the same as I was checking out some options on Flickr and came to know that they have some photoblog thingy. Even I exactly dont know what it is but thought of checking it out and I finally logged in to my blog!

Neways, I don’t have anything else useful to write about here so I would be stopping it here.. Hope I get back to my blog soon!

PS: Taking into consideration the fact that Deccan Chargers and Bangalore Royal Challengers were the teams that came up from bottom of the table in IPL’08 to the top of the table in IPL’09, I am keeping high expectations for Mumbai Indians in the next season!! GO MUMBAI!!

Emosanal Attyachaar…

So I am back again to my blog and thought of updating it….

As the title says it all, this one is about the movie which was in talks all the time for its weird type of advertising… from the song ” Emosanal Attyachaar” to the distribution of condoms at their premier!

Finally, the movie has released and just saw it today. Ok then to state the reaction about the movie in short:

” Its the most awesome movie I have seen in recent times.”

To start with, this movie might have got various reactions from people… but personally I think that the people who wouldn’t have liked this film would be the one with a very conservative or orthodox kind of mindset as the frankness of the topics shown in the movie may have offended some people.

I loved this movie as it was a wonderfull interpretation of Devdas in modern times. The complete movie is related to Devdas but still it stands out differently as a different concept. The whole idea of the movie is very much realistic and I think if Devdas was in 2009, he would also have done the same thing! The acting performances by all the actors are outstanding and both the new comers do a lot of justice to their roles!

To top it all, the movie has an excellent camera work and superb sound mixing which makes it a very new kind of narration of the subject. The songs are very thoughfully placed throughout the film which donot let the movie become a bore even thought there are more number of songs than a normal dhinchak kind of hindi film!

But the main mystery in the movie which I couldn’t figure out was; ” Why was there a special thanks to Danny Boyle in the starting credits?” And comparing the movie to a reccently good but over-hyped Slumdog Millionaire, I think Dev D is many times better!

Hence, If you are thinking of watching this movie, do yourself a favour and go watch it as soon as possible. Its worth every penny you pay!

Passing By….

Ok, I have finally checked my blog after more than a month and thought of clicking on the Add New Post Link!!

Actually the past month in which i didn’t write about anything was quite a happening one. Actually everyone knows about the 26/11 events in Mumbai! That was a really sad event and my sympathies are with all those who lost their loved ones in this catastrophe. I was in Chennai that time and while the terrorists in Mumbai were busy killing innocent people here, the same job was being done in Tamil Nadu by the rains! End result- people killed and destruction of property at both the places!

Anyways,  the topic must have been discussed about a million times till now everywhere and it will continue to be in news ( until the news channels don’t get anything else to pass their time with ). So I don’t want to waste my lines on it any more explaining how i feel about it and what should be done and all that. ( ‘coz anyhow, how many people read this blog )!

Now, about my past few days…. my college life was having a little ups and downs! I mean, one day in the middle ( rather near the end) of Third semester, my college realises that more than 50% of its students are not eligible for the Second year as they didn’t attend two of the most important days ( which even my college people were not sure about their dates! ) So, the next day, they forget about all this and again no one bothers about it! Again after few days, our college remembers about our assignments which were meant for checking out our complete semesters progress. We get to know about this assignments when there are just 1-2 weeks left in the completion of the semester! Once again our college proves itself ! Finally, we are told about some submission dates for the final submission and at the eleventh hour, we come to know that the dates have been postponed ( or rather the dates given earlier were not the actual ones at all)!

And the irregularities of our college keep on continuing………

And one more reason I took time to update my blog about these events is that I wanted my blog to be clean ( as in free of abuses) so if I had wrote about my college events while they were taking place, the blog would have been half filled with #$#^!% !)

As the year 2008 is on the verge of ending in a matter of few hours, I just hope that the New Year brings with it a lot of hope and happiness for everybody! ( I also hope that I end up writing my blog more often )

Have A Blast!

Once upon a time…

Once upon a time…. I used to write in this blog. I would try to post all the new happenings in this blog. But now, its all gone… I have forgot that I maintain this blog. I am now checking this blog after about more than a month. This blog is in the danger of extinction..

 

Actually I am nomore jobless nowadays ( or rather as jobless as i used to be ). I am busy the whole day in some kind of activity ( disturbing someone also counts as an activity ). So thats why I am not getting any time to post and by the way I cannot think of any topics to post.

 

Now, I think I’ll be trying to post some new things but whenever I think of posting… another thought comes that whatever I am posting…. is it getting read by anyone?? Actually I had one reader of my blog earlier but nowadays he has also forgotten the meaning of a blog. So I think practically my blog is readerless…

 

But still, I am writing this just for the sake of my time pass so let it be… I think I’ll still be posting stuff, however useless it might seem to anyone accidentally landing on to my blog. Then, lets see if I am successful in keeping my word of upadating the blog once in a while..

Well, this game still has many problems but I think considering our team’s minimal knowledge in game development this is a pretty good attempt.

Good Going…

The Beijing Olympics 2008 is on and as everyone knows India got its first ever solo gold medal winner few days back in the form of Abhinav Bindra. At first I had thought that this medal was the first and the last for India in this Olympics. But the Indians have done a really good job this time in acheiving two more medals namely in Men’s Freestyle 66kg Wrestling and Men’s 75kg Boxing events. Sushil Kumar and Vijender Kumar respectively won bronze medals for India in these events.

A hearty Congratulations to them both!!!

And thus that makes my previous expectation of India coming home with just one gold to account for in the medal tally fail. Its a really good thing for India. These medals will surely help in improving the morale of the future atheletes I guess. Anyways from the past few Olympics, India is looking like they are improving on this front gradually after the solo bronze in Sydney in 2000 to a solo Silver in Athens in 2004 and then to these 3 medals (till date) in Beijing 2008. So I hope we will surely see some more better performances in future..

Thus Best Of Luck India!! Hoping for many more achievements in future!!!!

The latest not-so-happenings of my life…

Ok, so here I am writing another entry in my blog and not giving a domn about how many people visit my blog Now about the latest happenings (actually not-so-happenings) in my recent days.

So, to start with recently I am busy in making a game…yeah an actual, functional 3D game! Its actually my college project that is going on and we are having a group of seven who are going to make this game come into reality… But we have to submit all this things on a given time and the fixed submission date. But, the submission date has been changed twice till now and we are expecting a third one now. Yeah, but the game thing is going on well and I think we are working towards it and hope to complete it… Btw, the game we are making is a combat flight game named ACE FIGHTER and I think I might post something more about it once it gets completed (hopefully ).

The other new thing would be that I have realised that today is the day I complete my one whole year after coming to Chennai for my college ( without counting the number of times I have been back home ). And I think thats one my biggest achievements in my life so far and more are sure going to come by as I have to stay still longer here !

One more thing to be added to this would be a BSoD. Yes I had a BSod attack on my laptop two days back

But I have successfully reinstalled my Windows ( so what if the Windows is famous for its BSoD?? I still use it as I don’t know to use any other OS )back on my system and thats one more feat to be accounted as this was the first time I have personally installed the operating system on my system ( with the help from my friends )

And hence, these were I guess few of my ongoing and completed achievements in recent days!!

India’a first solo Gold medal at the Olympics…..

ABHINAV BINDRA

Yes, thats the name that will be on everyone’s mind from now on when the Olympics are mentioned. The shooter from India did a remarkable feat today by winning the Gold medal in the Beijing Olympics currently.

This is the first individual Gold for India at the Olympics and thus is a thing to celebrate. yeah, and I think that explains the current situation of Indian Sport. The only sport being supported here is cricket and that too many a times is not the worth… This was clearly seen when it was declared that a prize of Rs. 25 lakh will be given to Bindra by the BCCI! And yes thats the Board of Control for Cricket in India….

Well, I think this Gold has bought in such a publicity for Abhinav Bindra that today while checking the Google Hot Trends in India, the Hotness of the search topic “Abhinav Bindra” was ‘Volcanic’ while the second most hot topic was just mild in the hotness..( actually these hot trends can be found out on the iGoogle portion of the Google )

So, now that the Gold has been won the common scene I guess for the next few days or maybe for the remaining days of Olympics will be the discussions about Abhinav Bindra and his heroic achievement of the Gold medal on all the Indian news channels ( who are now no more different from the daily soaps of Ekta Kapoor ) But unless we get one more medal and I think it seems very unlikely. Anyways, lets see how the events unfold in the days to come and whether the Indian contingent in Beijing is capable of lifting the medals tally a little more further or will it end just simply as

India: Gold:1 Silver:0 Bronze:0 Total:1

But not sounding so against the Indian team I hope that they do a very good job over there and come back to India with flying colors….
